Nurse

Nurse’s Area
·         The entry to the Nurse Area would be from the Student Commons for ease of access and convenience.
o   The waiting area would be screened from the treatment area, and have space for a desk for a student aid to check students into the area.
o   There would be a locked storage area off of the waiting area.  This would be large enough to accommodate crutches, wheelchair, and first aid supplies.
o   A hallway would connect the Nurse Offices and Exam Room with the treatment area.
·         The Nurse’s Offices
o   Each office would be set up to act as an exam room and would have a hand wash sink and, locked, closed cabinet storage.
o   The office closest to the treatment area would have a window in the wall for observation.
·         The Treatment Area:
o   There would be 10 beds/stations in the treatment area.  There would be draw curtains around each bed.
o   In the center of the room there would be a stand-up island with storage below.  There would be room on both sides of the island for a medicine cart that would be metal and lockable.
o   At the north end of the room there would be a counter with a hand wash sink with goose neck faucet that is sensor activated.
o   All of the closed cabinet storage above and below would be  lockable.
o   There would be provision for an ice machine and a lockable refrigerator.
o   Note the direct exit from the treatment room for emergency exiting or entry into the space.
o   There is also a good proximity to the Training Room if there are conditions that require additional medical attention.
